From garnish to centerpiece, our microgreens support the taste and precision that define great kitchens
For 15 years, I built technology infrastructure for businesses across the El Paso region. Through my business, Computer Net Solutions, I served over 100 clients including, restaurants, medical offices, law firms and retailers.
Along this journey I started thinking about food. Specifically, thinking about the gap between what people in the El Paso area have access to and what's actually possible when you apply the same precision thinking to growing food as you do running network systems.
Why Microgreens. Why Here.
Microgreens are one of the most nutritionally dense foods you can eat. Research consistently shows that many varieties contain 10 to 40 times the vitamins and antioxidants of their mature counterparts. Those nutrients are packed into the microgreens the first 7 to 14 days of growth, before the plant puts its energy into developing structure instead of nutrients.
Unfortunately, most of the microgreens people buy have traveled hundreds or even thousands of miles. They were cut days ago and the nutrient/taste degradation that happens between harvest and prolonged consumption is real, and it's significant.
Horizon City, Texas (West Texas) gives us a natural advantage that most operations don't have: 297 sunny days a year. In a region that most people see as a desert challenge, we see an agricultural opportunity. The dry climate reduces pest and disease pressure. And our controlled hydroponic system means we're not dependent on rainfall or seasonal variation.
We grow in water, not soil. Recirculating our hydroponic system creates over 90% reduction in water consumption and of course, zero pesticides are used. And we never send you a product that was cut more than a few hours before you receive it.
At GoodnGreens, our greenhouse uses sensor monitors that track environmental variables from the time that seeds are germinated to the moment of harvest. Temperature, humidity, nutrient concentration, pH, light cycles. All variables that can affect the nutritional outcome of the plant is watched, logged, and optimized.
The result is consistency you can rely on. If you order the Kale Trio Mix this week and again in three weeks, you're getting the same product, same freshness, same nutrition profile, same quality.
On our Day 1 launch we started with three varieties and our broccoli microgreens sold out! We are very excited to bring our greens to market in El Paso! Please reach out and let us know if there are any other varieties of microgreens that you would like to try.
GoodnGreens launched with a simple mission: change the possibility of what could be grown in the desert
We're at the beginning of our amazing journey. If you found us at the farmers market, or because a friend sent you a link, or because you were looking for something better than what the grocery store offers, we're glad you're here.
